Epic weekend doing my first Hyrox Open Men’s Doubles with Sam @rings001 ! Thank you for carrying me through the running segments and helping me improve my total run time by almost 5 minutes(!) and for scream singing Pink Pantheress, Taylor Swift and Britney in my ear during runs 6 and 7.
We had phenomenal support from the fantastic Emily (many thanks for the many photos and videos), my brilliant coach @oliecanlett and the amazing @_factr community who were also competing and kept me going during those tough moments!
Onto the next challenge!

My first ever men’s solo Hyrox is done!!!!
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could ever do this. I was the child who was rubbish at PE at school and it took a very long time for me to expel my exercise demons.
Luckily I had fantastic coaching from @oliecanlett and my time at @_factr showed me what I was capable of doing with positivity, and encouragement.
Thank you @petersedavies for coming and being my cheering crew / videographer!!
Hopefully this will be the first of many!

Christmas Extravaganza 2025!

Had a fantastic time performing alongside wonderful local talent for the annual Sauchie Community Group Christmas Extravaganza this week! It gives me a perfect excuse to keep practising the violin!
Also many congratulations to the cast and Sauchie Community Group choir for this year`s production of Miracle on 34th Street.
I had great fun playing Bryan Bedford - maybe I should have been a lawyer in another life...!
My fave line: I would ask the court to judge what`s worse: a lie that draws a smile? Or the truth that draws a tear.

Finishing up some long overdue paintings. I started this when I lived in Melbourne last year inspired by pastry crawls with @d.rav and @cameronmorrice. I have finally finished it!
All the viennoiserie were purchased and consumed long before completing the work.
The key question is who does better pastries? The Australians or the French?
(Having sampled both I have my own thoughts... which I`ll be keeping to myself!)

The end of the Fellowship Era opens the door to a new one.
I`m thrilled to be joining @nhsggc Clyde Trauma and Orthopaedic team as a Consultant with an Upper limb/Hand and wrist subspecialty interest starting today. Thank you all for making me feel so welcome!
I`m looking forward to meeting all the members of the wider team and bringing my Fellowship experience for the benefit of patients in the West of Scotland.

Savoie, France - it is so easy to fall in love with you, with your unbelievable landscapes, lovely but immensely challenging language, friendly people and just truly epic food. Thank you for teaching me how to converse in an operating theatre and for discovering that there is a surgical instrument called a "pince magique".
Some highlights include Chambéry, Annecy, Aix-Les Bains, Bourget-du-Lac, Forclaz, Lyon, Arles, Clermont-Ferrand, Cahors, Les Junies and special mention to Switzerland - Geneva and Nyon, and Italy - Turin.
